  • Milk Powder- 1/2 cup (50gm)

  • Baking soda- ¼ spoon

    I was searching a recipe like this one which can be done in pressure cooker, specially without Convection microwave. Though myself and my wife are very much “used to” with variety of baking, I wanted to learn it. Thank you Meenu Dua. It is delicious as we tried as described by you.     we can use dat salt for cooking which we put it in a pressure cooker?

      No you can’t use that for cooking but you can use same salt for baking cake 2nd time.We don’t use it for cooking as it is already burned due to high temperature.

    Hi Meenu I am regularly following your recipes – I would like to try my hand at making this eggless dryfruit cake but I am not getting the tutti frutti anywhere in south mumbai side can you pls help if you know any place i can find thanks

      I am from Delhi so don’t know about mumbai. But you can get it easily in any super store. Otherwise you can skip it and make cake with only dry fruits and raisins.

        Hi Anu, thank you for this recipe, I am going to try it for Christmas day as I caonnt eat eggs. I have tried so many substitutes but have had many poor results due to the flavour coming through in the end so I am looking forward to trying the potato as an alternative in my other recipes too!       Hi Mayuri. Milk powder add a liltte texture to the cake. If you dont want to use it just add all the other ingredients and the cake would still be nice. Some people add a liltte custard powder to the cake though I have never tried it. Do let me know how it turns out.

      Hi, this is such a great recipe as my mums bihdrtay falls during the fasting season so a quick Eggless recipe is ideal. Just a quick question though, wth can we ure as a substitute for milk powder?

      milk powder is dry milk, for eg. you can get nestle milk powder in market

        Glad you all are liking this repcie.Saranya: You can try adding cocoa to this cake for a chocolate flavour. I dont see any harm!Jayashree: Please refrigerate the cake as it might get spoilt if you leave it outside in our hot and humid climate. don’t worry it wont go hard as when you bring it out and leave it outside it will soften.

    Hi Meenu,

    I am just just wondering if this pressure cooker tastes similar to baked cake. I like baked oven cake. Or does it comes out like a microwave oven cake. The cake cooked in microwave is different to oven cake.
